Jill Tarter, PhD, director, Center for SETI Research, SETI Institute; Robert Zubrin, PhD, president, Mars Society; and Christopher McKay, PhD, planetary scientist, NASA Ames Research Center Are there long-term consequences of space exploration that could affect the future of the human race? Does space hold the key to the future of life and intelligence? Can the move into space help humanity to survive? Come hear the thoughts of two of today’s most visionary thinkers about space exploration. Tarter is a pioneer in the modern human search for extraterrestrial intelligence, and her work was loosely portrayed in the feature film, Contact. McKay’s primary research focus is planetary atmospheres and he has been actively involved in planning for future Mars missions that include human settlements. Zubrin is the founder of the Mars Society, an organization formed to support exploration and eventual settlement on Mars.
