Year One Update

One year after breaking ground on the new wing, the project is on time and on budget. This photo shows construction of the B1 level floor, with the future home of the anthropology collections in the foreground and the conservation and archives areas beyond. The three towers will contain stairs, mechanical shafts, and elevators; they are complete to the top level of the new addition, where the mechanical penthouse is located. The metal reinforcing bar grid in the center of the image is the next section of concrete to be poured. The B1 level floor will be complete by late September 2012.

Project Updates

Work continues on the Morgridge Family Exploration Center, on schedule for a February 2014 opening! Check out the latest progress on the addition.
