2018 Teen Science Scholars

Teen Science Scholars complete hands-on summer internships with research and collections staff at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. In 2018, internships will be available in anthropology, arachnology, archaeology, earth science, education collections, health science, ornithology, photography, zoology, and botany collections. Teen Science Scholar interns receive a monthly stipend, bus passes, and Museum cafeteria vouchers to offset cost of living expenses during the term of their internship. Eligibility for Teen Science Scholars

  • Must be going into junior or senior year of high school in the Fall of 2018
  • Must be available June to August 2018
  • Cannot be absent for more than three consecutive internship days, or six non-consecutive internship days during the term of the internship
  • Must have an interest in learning more about research and/or collections
  • Teens who come from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the sciences are strongly encouraged to apply. (e.g. Hispanic, Latinx, African American, Native American, and individuals who will be the first generation in their family to complete a four-year college degree)

How to Apply

  • Please complete the online 2018 Teen Science Scholar Application
  • Allow one to two hours to complete the application
  • Be prepared to answer several essay questions, and provide information about your availability during the summer, motivation for wanting to participate in this internship, and contact details for two people who can serve as references. References should be individuals who are not related to you, and who can speak about your interest and need for this internship
  • You will not be able to edit your application once it has been submitted. Please read through it for accuracy before submitting
