Bridget Coughlin

Dr. Bridget Coughlin, a Colorado native, joined the Museum team in 2005. In her role as vice president, Bridget oversees development and education programs. She is trained as a molecular biochemist, and the Museum's education, research, and collection activities are truly in her DNA. Bridget holds a bachelor of arts from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and a PhD from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the University of Iowa.

Maureen McDonald

Maureen McDonald grew up in Denver and has had a lifelong passion for this Museum. She delights in the opportunity to work with donors to fulfill their desire to make a difference, not only in this treasured cultural institution but also in their own lives. Maureen served as executive director of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, and has held institutional advancement positions at St. Mary's Academy, the University of Colorado, and her alma mater, Washington University in St. Louis. 

Michael McNeill
Director of Major Gifts and Donor Relations

Michael McNeill trusts in the Museum's mission to inspire curiosity and firmly believes that all gifts are major. Together with a strong team of development professionals, Michael seeks support from individuals who want to partner with the Museum and continue a long tradition of engaging the Colorado community. He holds a PhD in French literature from Princeton University, and has served as the director of development at Kent Denver School in Englewood and The American School of Paris. 

Rebecca Olchawa Barker
Manager of Donor Relations

Rebecca Olchawa Barker joined the Museum in 2009, after working for Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago as a senior development officer. When she isn't out enjoying Colorado from her road bike, Rebecca manages the Giving Club and Young Professionals membership programs. Before entering the nonprofit sector, Rebecca spent four years as an account executive for a public relations agency. She holds a BA in communications and environmental studies from Western Michigan University.

Marc Ravenhill
Donor Services Officer

Marc Ravenhill joined the Museum in 2010 as the first donor services officer. Originally from Southern California, Marc holds a BA in communications from the University of California at Fullerton. Before joining the Museum, Marc "ran away with the circus," traveling to more than 30 North American cities and seven European countries with Cirque du Soleil. His career in fundraising began in 1991 while working for the Tony Award-winning South Coast Repertory, in Costa Mesa, California.

Corporate Giving

Melissa Spencer
Director of Corporate Giving and Donor Research

Melissa Spencer enjoys working with businesses and corporations to help them achieve their objectives through partnership with the Museum. She seeks to secure funding for corporate memberships, special events, exhibition sponsorships, and scholarship programs. Originally from North Pole, Alaska, Melissa previously served as assistant director of development for the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra in St. Paul, Minnesota. She holds a bachelor's degree in music business and violin performance, and an MA in arts administration.

Foundations and Grants

Jill Viehweg
Director of Foundation and Government Grants

Jill Viehweg joined the Museum in 2005 as grants officer and moved into her current position as director of foundation and government grants in 2009. Originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Jill holds a BA in biology from the University of Minnesota and a master's in human ecology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels, Belgium. Since 1991, she has also raised funds for nonprofit organizations in Chicago; New Haven, Connecticut; and Fargo, North Dakota.
