A Night in Pompeii: Carpe Noctem! was the theme of the Museum After Dark gala held on November 2, 2012. The event grossed more than $900,000—a record for the event—which will support education programs for the next generation of scientists.
A sell-out crowd of more than 800 guests enjoyed a black-tie evening while experiencing the lifestyle of ancient Rome. Wining and dining like Romans, dancing, and a unique silent auction were experienced among some of the world's most amazing scientific treasures.
The party went on well into the night as more than 250 revelers attended the third annual Young Professionals After Dark Soiree. The YPs joined the celebration to explore exhibits after hours, mingle, dance to live entertainment by Funkiphino and DJ Skeet, enjoy fabulous fare, and see a silent auction to impress.
