"Snow and Ice Gala: Reliving the Ice Age without the Frostbite"
was the theme of the Museum After Dark gala held on November 11,
2011. The event grossed more than $700,000, which will support
education programs for the next generation of scientists.
A sell-out crowd of more than 700 guests was immersed in an Ice
Age world of sparkling snow and ice and enjoyed cocktails, food,
dancing, and a unique silent auction. Guests also received an
opportunity to see fossils and meet scientists connected to the
amazing Ice Age fossil site near Snowmass Village.
The party went on well into the night as more than 150 revelers
attended the second annual Young Professionals After Dark Soiree.
The YPs explored exhibits after hours, mingled, and enjoyed "ice
cap" cocktails to the sounds of the Moderators and a live DJ.
Museum After Dark 2011 was sponsored by CH2M Hill and GH Phipps
Construction Companies and chaired by Museum trustee M. Ray
Thomasson and his wife, Merrill Shields.
