Coming October 8: IMAX 3D at the Phipps IMAX® Theater
The Museum is among the first three U.S. museums to undergo digital upgrades to the latest IMAX technology, which delivers the world’s most immersive movie experience. Enhancements include IMAX’s powerful digital projection system, IMAX’s latest digital sound system, and a new IMAX screen, plus new flooring, new side curtains, and wider seats. During the IMAX closure, we invite our visitors to experience the Museum’s latest planetarium show, Journey to the Stars.

Hubble 3D: Experience a gripping story full of hope, crushing disappointment, dazzling ingenuity, bravery and triumph. Hubble recounts the amazing journey of the Hubble Space Telescope, arguably the most important scientific instrument since Galileo’s original telescope and the greatest success in space since the Moon landing. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, Hubble will change the way you see the universe. Hubble show times will be 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. daily, with additional shows at 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Under the Sea 3D: Visit exotic and isolated underwater locations, including Southern Australia and New Guinea, and encounter some of the most mysterious and stunning creatures of the sea. Explore the natural wonder of the oceans and see the impact of global climate change in this 3D adventure, which is narrated by Jim Carrey. Under the Sea show times will be 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily, with additional shows at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. |
