Prehistoric Journey Exhibit Interpreter

If you are interested in volunteering on-the-floor with guests in the Discovery Zone, Expedition Health, Prehistoric Journey, Temporary Exhibits, Space Odyssey, or the Museum Ambassador Program, the deadline to submit an application is August 31, 2016 to be considered for placement in our Volunteer Program for 2016. We will continue to accept applications after August 31, 2016 and you will be contacted in early 2017 with information about the next steps in the application process.

Enhance the visitor’s experience in Prehistoric Journey as they travel through time - beginning with Earth’s birth and following through to the rise of the modern world - by working with visitors in the exhibit and facilitating a variety of dinosaur and fossil Exploration Stations.

Required Skills            
Friendly, outgoing, experience working with the public, ability and interest in learning about Earth science.

Training                                   
Lectures and technique training, on-the-job training, take-home reading, and DVDs.

Schedule                                 
One four and a half-hour shift per week, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. or 12:30–5 p.m.

Minimum Commitment
One year

Age Requirements      
Available to individual applicants 14 and older; family groups.
