Prehistoric Journey Exhibit Interpreter

Prehistoric Journey volunteers enhance the guests' experiences as they travel through time in our award winning exhibit beginning with Earth’s birth and following through to the rise of the modern world by providing information about the exhibit, answering questions, and facilitating Exploration Stations. We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and flexible volunteers who will help create unforgettable memories for our guests.

Required Skills 
Excellent customer service skills, solid oral communication skills, ability and desire to work with people of all ages, ability and desire to work as part of a team, and a flexible and proactive problem solver. Bilingual skills a plus. Applicants do not need to be a content expert, but rather have a passion for learning new content and excitement about sharing new information to help enrich our guests’ experience.   

On the job training with staff and formal technique trainings

One four and a half-hour shift per week or every other week, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.  Applicants must be able to volunteer for a minimum of 20 shifts within one year.

Minimum Age Requirements      
Available to individual applicants 14 years of age or older; family groups.
