John Fielder Celebrates 50 Years of Colorado Wilderness (November 13)

Renowned Colorado photographer John Fielder joins us to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act. In 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed into law this historic bill establishing the National Wilderness Preservation System, setting aside wild lands for the use and benefit of the American people. In Colorado, 3.6 million acres have been protected as wilderness, including the Maroon Bells, Gunnison Gorge, Flat Tops, Great Sand Dunes, and much of Rocky Mountain National Park. Fielder will share images of Colorado and other American wilderness areas on the IMAX screen accompanied by beautiful music, and stories of his life on the trail during his own 40 years of exploring the wilderness. A book sale and signing will follow the lecture.
