Bird Walk: Eastern Plains Raptors

Winter can be an exciting time on the eastern plains of Colorado as winter raptors patrol the prairies and waterways. Look for rough-legged hawk, golden eagle, prairie falcon, and merlin as well as huge flocks of horned larks. In the afternoon head to Jackson Lake State Park, where long-eared owls winter in the Russian olive thickets. Transportation and admission to Jackson Lake State Park are not included. Participants caravan from a meeting location.
