The Henry C. Toll Collection consists of nearly 300 sketches, with their associated notes and archives, of more than 120 Native American dances from the Rio Grande Valley. An artist based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Toll focused his efforts between 1968 and 1991 on documenting certain aspects of the Puebloan ritual life.
Toll's sketches constitute an outstanding contribution to Southwestern research and, once properly inventoried and organized, will prove useful to students, anthropologists, artists, and art collectors. The project is funded by Lydia and Hank Toll.
