DMNS Charitable Gift Annuity

If you are interested in learning more about Life Income Gifts, you may want to consider a charitable gift annuity that is administered by the DMNS Foundation. A charitable gift annuity allows you to make a gift to the Foundation and receive a lifetime income in return. Charitable gift annuities are frequently funded with cash or marketable securities with long-term appreciation. This gift option offers you the opportunity to transform non-income or low-income producing assets into a higher income stream for you and another person if you wish.

Your charitable gift annuity offers you positive benefits:

  • You create a legacy for the Denver Museum of Nature & Science to assure the strength of our mission and programs for future generations.
  • You are invited to become a member of the Museum’s esteemed Edwin Carter Legacy Society.
  • You receive an income stream for the rest of your life, part of which may be tax-free.
  • You obtain a charitable income tax deduction in the year of your gift.
  • You may avoid capital gains tax if you fund your annuity with appreciated securities.

A charitable gift annuity can provide income payments that you receive either immediately or defer to a future date. Either type of gift annuity may be established with a minimum of $10,000. The immediate payment gift annuity requires a minimum age of 65; the deferred annuity can be initiated at age 50.

The American Council on Gift Annuities establishes payout rates used by the Museum to establish the donor’s lifetime annuity income.
