The following contractors worked with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science’s world-renowned staff of scientists, educators, exhibit staff, evaluators and engineers to make Space Odyssey a reality:


Delphi Productions
Delphi Productions partnered with the Museum to design, produce and install all themed environments, interactive exhibits and media for the Space Odyssey exhibition. Delphi, located in Alameda, Calif., specializes in designing and building state-of-the-art, experience-based museum and science center exhibits that can meet the growing expectations of today’s audiences.

Gerald H. Phipps, Inc.
Gerald H. Phipps, Inc. of Denver is the construction manager and general contractor for the exhibition, Gates Planetarium and the Leprino Family Atrium and Sky Terrace. Gerald H. Phipps, Inc. has completed more than 1,400 construction projects across Colorado and has been in business since 1952. Previously, Phipps was the contractor for the Phipps IMAX® Theater renovation at the Museum. The firm has recently worked on Invesco Field at Mile High and renovations of the Colorado Capitol, the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion at Fitzsimmons and The Children’s Hospital.

Gyroscope, Inc.
Gyroscope, Inc., a California museum planning and exhibit design company, was a key member of the team that developed the Space Odyssey concept. Gyroscope specializes in interactive science experiences for leading museums across the United States. Their staff includes designers and architects as well as science educators and museum developers. Current and recent clients include Exploration Place in Wichita, Kan., Bishop Museum in Honolulu, California Science Center, Chabot Space and Science Center and Bay Area Discovery Museum, among others.

Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates
Architectural design for the Gates Planetarium and the Leprino Family Atrium and Sky Terrace is by Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates, LLP (HHPA). HHPA is an internationally recognized architecture, planning and interior design firm with offices in Los Angeles and New York. The firm is well known for its design work throughout the country, including of the recent award-winning renovation of Radio City Music Hall and the popular Vilar Center for the Arts in Beaver Creek.

HLM Design
HLM Design is the associate architect on the Gates Planetarium and the Leprino Family Atrium and Sky Terrace. They are also the architect of record for the Space Odyssey exhibition. HLM Design is an award-winning international architecture and engineering firm with 10 offices throughout the United States, including Denver, and four offices in the United Kingdom. The firm is best known for its design of the United States Courthouse in Sacramento, Calif., and for the Dale and Betty Bumpers Vaccine Research Center at the National Institutes of Health in Washington, D.C.

LeftHand Networks
LeftHand Networks has provided a scalable, IP-based storage solution to the Museum for Space Odyssey that provides the Museum with rapid and secure access to exhibition data and images. LeftHand Networks offers a complete, end-to-end IP-SAN solution called Distributed Storage Matrix™, which aids with server consolidation and backup.

Microsoft
Microsoft provides the Denver Museum of Nature & Science with the latest products and services for content delivery and office productivity. Founded in 1975, Microsoft is the worldwide leader in software, services and Internet technologies for personal and business computing. The company offers a wide range of products and services designed to empower individuals and communities through software.

SGI
An SGI ® Onyx® 3000 visualization system powers the new Gates Planetarium’s Cosmic Atlas navigation system. SGI’s digital planetarium solution enables the planetarium to display spectacular, seamless images on its dome for exciting, real-time shows. SGI, headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., with offices worldwide, also provides visualization and supercomputing solutions for car and plane design and production, medical research, oil reserve tracking, weather predictions, government defense and Hollywood special effects.
