Dr. Bridget Coughlin

Bridget Coughlin, PhD, is vice president of Strategic Partnerships and Programs, and Curator of Human Health at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Dr. Coughlin is responsible for building community partnerships and events, enriching adult educational programs, and integrating the Museum’s major initiatives from the strategic plan, Museum 20/20.

Dr. Coughlin joined the Museum in 2005 after working for five years at the National Academy of Sciences where she was the managing editor of the multidisciplinary journal PNAS. While in Washington, she also worked on science policy reports related to her research on infectious diseases.

Dr. Coughlin serves as the curator and science advisor to Expedition Health and health science programs. She holds a bachelor of arts from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and a doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Iowa Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Presently, her research involves enrolling Museum visitors in a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded Genetics of Taste study.
