Grades 8-12
In the Student Summer Scholars Program, you will collaborate with professional scientists in the field and in the lab at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. The Student Summer Scholars Program is open to students who can demonstrate their commitment to science-related goals. This is a summer program that will have a lasting impact as you learn more about science careers and conduct actual research at a leading scientific institution.
- Paleontology: Collaborate with paleontologists at a field site in central Wyoming to search for evidence of ancient plants and animals from 50 million years ago. After collecting data and fossils, return to the Museum’s laboratory to process the specimens and analyze what you collected.
- Zoology: Collaborate with zoologists at field sites in Colorado and the southwestern United States to collect insect and arachnid specimens. In the laboratory, prepare specimens for the Museum’s collections and conduct data analysis.
