Scientists in Action is a live broadcast that offers students direct access to scientists as they work in the field or in their labs. Scientists discuss the importance of field research in making new discoveries, demonstrate field and lab techniques, offer a view behind the scenes at the Museum, and answer questions from the students.
The 30-minute broadcasts are enhanced by content-rich pre-and-post-broadcast activities. Following the broadcast, students examine displays of related artifacts and specimens, and often have a chance to meet the scientists who are onsite at the Museum. Scientists in Action can be combined with a self-guided visit, class, IMAX film, or Planetarium show, further expanding the learning experience.
