On Thursday, September 18, a new era for the DMNS entomology collection began. The collection started to move from the old space below IMAX into our brand new, state-of-the-art Rocky Mountain Science Collections Center two levels below ground. On Monday, all dry collections were moved and secured in new cabinetry on compactors. An NSF CSBR grant to Curator of Entomology, Frank Krell, enabled us to purchase the cabinets, made by Delta Designs Ltd. in Kansas. Some more cabinets need to be installed, then we will have enough space to set up our collection for best working conditions, accessibility, and 20 years of growth! A big thank you to all who have helped us moving, moving forward, and continue to move.
Addendum 9 Nov.: A short article on the entomology move was published in the first issue of the DMNS Reports.
