Next up, Steve brings us the latest from the New Horizons mission.
Data was recorded directly to the spacecraft during the flyby and continues to be sent back at a rate of 2k per second. It will take 16 months for all the data to be transferred back to Earth.
Several new images reveal a variety of surface features as diverse as possible dunes, nitrogen ice flows, and networks of valleys that may have been carved by material flowing over Pluto’s surface.
Steve finishes up with a look at an image of Ceres from the Dawn spacecraft. The new image shows Cere’s bright spot in striking new detail.
