Look Out! Lizards and Snakes Continue to Invade Denver, This Time at Denver International Airport and Cherry Creek North

Snake Carriers and Snakes in Trees from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science on Display around Town

DENVER - May 3, 2012 -Passengers at Denver International Airport and shoppers in Cherry Creek North should be on the lookout for slithering snakes and leaping lizards. Two snake carrierdisplays have been spotted sitting empty in the baggage claim areas at the airport, and snakes have been seen hanging from the trees in Cherry Creek North.

These fun additions are part of an effort to increase awareness of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science's temporary exhibition Lizards & Snakes, now open through July 8, 2012. 

The Lizards & Snakes exhibition offers Museum visitors the opportunity to see more than 60 live lizards and snakes from diverse habitats in Australia, Cuba, Egypt, Guatemala, Kenya, Madagascar, Indonesia, Mexico, Sudan, and the United States. The animals, ranging from the four-inch tropical girdled lizard to the 14-foot Burmese python, are displayed in terrariums specifically designed to encourage natural behavior, complete with ponds, tree limbs, rock ledges, and live plants. Don't worry, all the animals are behind glass!
