Bio

Dr. Levine is Assistant Curator of Mesoamerican Archaeology at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. His research focuses on political economy, household archaeology, and social relations in Prehispanic and Early Colonial Period Mesoamerica. Prior to joining the Museum in 2008, Dr. Levine completed his PhD at the University of Colorado at Boulder and his B.A. at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Levine has an active research project at the Late Postclassic (AD 1100-1522) Mixtec Capital of Tututepec (Yucu Dzaa), located on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Mexico. Dr. Levine conducts research on the Pre-Columbian collection at the DMNS and recently curated a temporary exhibit on Genghis Khan. He is also Adjunct Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
