From 30 November to 4 December, Enio Cano from Guatemala visited DMNS. He is curator of the arthropod collection of the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and an expert of bess beetles (Passalidae) and Rutelinae. We invited him with a stipend from the Lloyd David and Carlye Cannon Wattis Foundation to work in the collection and to present his biogeographic research on Nuclear Central America at the Wattis Symposium on 3 December. Enio brought a reference collection of almost 200 Guatemalan Passalidae and Scarabaeidae as a gift which enhances significantly our sparse holdings of the Central American scarab fauna.
