Rick and I finished our work with the Konvalenko family today!
Rick took photographs of another sculpture, Balilaika Player, which
has the oldest character we've seen in the collection. He's a jolly
old man, with bony figures and a lively disposition. His face is
really expressive, and Konovalenko's signature can be found in
terribly small letters on the man's sash. Rick also took shots of
two crystal carvings of Leonid Breshnev, and another series of
enamel works. We will post Rick's photographs soon, but for now,
enjoy a few of mine! I did a final oral history with Ms.
Konovalenko, and we started making plans for continuing the project
in Moscow!
