Made it to Moscow

  • Looking at the traffic on the "Outer Ring" road around Moscow

  • St. Basil's Cathedral: A short distance from our hotel in central Moscow

We made it to Moscow safe and sound a bit after noon today.  Even our luggage arrived on time -- a major plus!  One major impression so far -- Moscow's traffic is amazingly congested!  It took us nearly two hours to reach our hotel from the airport.  Definitely not a place I'd be itching to get a rental car ...  We've met the rest of our group, as well as our local Russian guide.  This is going to be a very fun group to spend the next ten days exploring the Russian Space Program with!

Tomorrow will be spent at Star City -- the training facility for Russia's cosmonaut corps (as well as the American astronauts heading to the International Space Station aboard Russian Soyuz spacecraft).  Should have lots to report on tomorrow evening.  Until then, check out the slideshow above with a few shots from our brief time here.
