First issue of Denver Museum of Nature & Science published

On November 7, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science launched its second scientific journal, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science Reports. The Museum's main scientific journal, the DMNS Annals, have been published since 2009 and succeed the Proceedings of the Colorado Museum of Natural History (1915-1948), the Proceedings of the Denver Museum of Natural History (1955-1999) and finally the Proceedings of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science (2001-2002). Whereas the Annals are a peer-reviewed journal, the DMNS Reports are open for manuscripts that are not necessarily suitable for peer-review, such as abstract volumes, historical documents, preliminary results, and the like. Peer review will be arranged on the request of the authors only. Formerly such items were published informally as DMNS Technical Reports, a now discontinued series of both internal documents and published reports. The new DMNS Reports have ISSNs (for print and electronic versions), are available for free from the DMNS Publications webpage, and can be purchased as print-on-demand hard copies from Lulu. The first issue contains the Program and Abstracts of the 25th High Country Lepidopterists Meeting which DMNS hosted on November 7 and 8.
