Phil Tates donated beetle collection
Through the effort and generosity of Denver resident Laurie
Zeller, DMNS received a spectacular donation today. Phil Tates of
New York donated his collection of 3,189 beetles from all over the
world that had resided in Laurie's home for some time. The
collection contains material from exotic places like India, Brazil,
the Bronx and, really, North Korea. Not too many US institutions
own material from that part of the world. We are excited about this
donation and will present the prettiest and interesting specimens
as "Zoology
Objects of the Week".
