Last year, a couple of animations showing solar system
candidates from Kepler were posted to
Youtube. The sequel is now back! Created by Daniel Fabrycky
from the Kepler science team, here are all of the planetary system
candidates with more than one planetary companion orbiting the
parent star. There are 361 solar systems total, with 885 planet
candidates.
Again the size of the orbits are scaled to one another.
The size of the planets are correctly scaled relative to each other
but not to the sizes of the orbits. The colors of the planets
correspond to the number of objects found transiting around each
star: yellow are the outermost of two planets systems, green are
the outermost of 3-planets, light blue are of 4-planet, dark blue
of 5-planet, and purple of 6-planet systems.
