Snowy the Columbian Mammoth
She's a young Columbian mammoth, and the first fossil found by a
bulldozer operator in fall 2010. Her name, Snowy, is to honor
Snowmass Village, her hometown. Now she lives at the Museum
and loves to talk about what it was like growing up in the Ice
Age.
If you'd like to take Snowy home, visit the Museum Shop, where
you'll find her adorable plush toy on sale now. All proceeds from
the Snowy product to go fund the science, research, and educations
of the Snowmastodon Project™.
