How We Breathe: The Lung Lab

Mondays–Fridays
Grades 4–8


Develop an understanding of the respiratory system by examining physiology, lung capacity, and anatomy. Use pulse oximeters to learn how the respiratory system and the circulatory system are related. Conduct an in-depth study during small-group dissections of a sheep lung.

Museum Classroom Programs are offered September-May. Minimum 10 students per class or lab; maximum 30. Call Reservations at 303.370.6000, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

    Mondays–FridaysGrades 2–5From saliva to bile and rugae to villi, explore the unusual and sometimes gross parts of your digestive system, aka your guts. Culminate your study as you observe the dissection of a frog’s digestive system.
