COST

Course fee: $150. 
1.5 graduate-level re-licensure credits available through the Colorado School of Mines. This course is for credit only.

Upon successful completion of the course (all face-to-face meetings and online coursework) a rebate of the course fee will be given. No rebates will be given if a participant does not complete the course.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Children cannot be accommodated in Teachers Professional Development Programs; no exceptions. Participants who arrive with children will not be admitted to the program.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to further your understanding of current research about the mechanics of how humans learn and process information, and demonstrate how these studies can make a difference in the way you teach your students. We’ll use the mysterious organ we know as the brain to explore, imagine, and think critically. Guest speakers, activities to build critical thinking and inquiry, and ways to make the practice of thinking like a scientist more overt for students will lead to making cognitive learning more meaningful in our daily teaching practice.
