Simply Science I is sold out, so ECE teachers may register for Simply Science II, even if you didn’t take the first section of this popular workshop. 


You are invited to a dynamic three-day workshop designed especially for practicing teachers of young children, Pre-K to 1st grade. Build your science content knowledge while learning how to incorporate and nurture science in your classroom. Enjoy a variety of in-depth experiences that explore an inquiry approach to science. The workshop includes

  • lively discussions with Museum scientists and staff
  • connections to science concepts through math and children’s fiction and nonfiction literature
  • exposure to Museum resources and how to effectively use them
  • plenty of hands-on, interdisciplinary activities that incorporate art and manipulatives

Credit

This course may be taken for credit or noncredit. If you enroll in this course for credit, the cost is $95 for 1.5 continuing education credits, available through the Colorado School of Mines.  If you choose to take this course for noncredit, you will receive a certificate of hours completed.

  • You must be a practicing Pre-K–1st grade teacher.
  • You must attend all three days of the workshop, June 11, 12, and 13, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Assignments

  • During the workshop you will be expected to be an active participant.
