Do I need to attend all three days?

Yes, to receive credit and/or a certificate of hours, you are required to attend and participate in the activities all three days, from the beginning to the end of each session.

Do I have to take this course for credit?

No, you may take it for ECE annual training hours only, for a total of 22 hours.

May I take the materials and distribute them to my staff?

No. The course materials are designed to link Museum resources to classroom activities. Individual teachers must participate in the course themselves to receive the full benefit.

May I take this course again?

No, this course repeats content from prior years.

Simply Science I is sold out, so ECE teachers may register for Simply Science II, even if you didn’t take the first section of this popular workshop.

You are invited to a dynamic three-day workshop designed especially for practicing teachers of young children, Pre-K to 1st grade. Build your science content knowledge while learning how to incorporate and nurture science in your classroom. Enjoy a variety of in-depth experiences that explore an inquiry approach to science. The workshop includes

lively discussions with Museum scientists and staff
connections to science concepts through math and children’s fiction and nonfiction literature
exposure to Museum resources and how to effectively use them
plenty of hands-on, interdisciplinary activities that incorporate art and manipulatives

Credit

This course may be taken for credit or noncredit. If you enroll in this course for credit, the cost is $95 for 1.5 continuing education credits, available through the Colorado School of Mines. If you choose to take this course for noncredit, you will receive a certificate of hours completed.
