SAVE 50% ON PROGRAMS WITH SCFD SCHOLARSHIPS

Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) scholarships provide 50 percent off fees for onsite Scientists in Action! Funds from the SCFD give scholarship assistance to schools in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties.


HALF-PRICE SCHOLARSHIPS AT YOUR SCHOOL 

Half-price scholarships are available for schools where at least 50 percent of the students are eligible for the federal free and reduced lunch program.

BUS FUEL FUND

We are currently out of funding and are no longer accepting applications at this time.

The Bus Fuel Fund at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science offers field trip busing assistance to economically disadvantaged schools in Colorado. The funding covers bus transportation only (driver & fuel) and cannot be used for Museum admission. Schools are responsible for making their own transportation arrangements and paying for the bus. Restrictions apply.

  • Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) schools in Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson Counties are eligible for a reimbursement up to $150/per bus. It provides reimbursement for up to two buses per field trip.
  • Colorado schools outside the SCFD are eligible for a reimbursement up to $250/per bus. It provides reimbursement for up to two buses per field trip.

    Eligibility
  • In order to qualify for a Bus Fuel Fund reimbursement your school must have at least 50 percent of your students qualify for the free and reduced lunch program through the National School Lunch Program. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Schools must have a reservation to visit the Denver Museum of Nature & Science before applying for bus funding.

    How to Participate
  • Schools must complete a Bus Fuel Fund application. Only completed forms will be accepted. We are no longer accepting applications at this time.
  • You will be notified about the funding within two weeks after your application is received. A confirmation letter will be e-mailed, stating the maximum amount of bus funds that will be reimbursed after your field trip. If you have questions about your application, please contact Melinda.Arnold@dmns.org.

After Your Field Trip
To arrange for reimbursement after your field trip, please send a bus voucher or invoice and any other supporting documentation to the above contact information. IMPORTANT: If we do not receive this information within 60 days following your visit, funds will not be reimbursed.

A reimbursement check to the district or school will be dispersed after the field trip; checks will take two weeks to process. Bus reimbursements cannot exceed the price paid for the bus.
