What is the Bus Fuel Fund? The Bus Fuel Fund at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science offers field trip busing assistance to schools that serve economically disadvantaged students. The funding helps defray the costs of transportation for field trips to the Museum and is applied to your field trip order balance. Groups are eligible for a $75 rebate/per bus, up to two buses per field trip. For field trips with no cost or with a balance that is less than the rebate amount, a credit card will be requested so that the rebate can be applied to the card directly. Groups are responsible for making their own transportation arrangements and paying for the bus.
If you are planning to take alternative transportation—such as RTD, personal vehicles, or company passenger vans—please give us a call to find out how the Bus Fuel Fund might work for your group.
ELIGIBILITYIn order to qualify for the Bus Fuel Fund, at least 50 percent of the students at your school must qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
