Metropolitan Denver Urban Advantage

Urban Advantage is designed to improve science literacy among urban middle school students. The program—now in a planning phase—is a collaboration between the Museum, the Denver Botanic Gardens, and the Denver Zoo and the Denver, Aurora, and Adams 14 school districts. Sponsored by the Goldman Sachs Foundation.

The program provides:

  • Teacher professional development with a focus on science inquiry
  • Classroom supplies and resources to support hands-on science investigations
  • Free class and student access to the three informal science institutions
  • Outreach to families
  • The creation of science-supportive environments in the schools
  • Program and student assessment

If you are a 7th-grade science teacher in the school districts listed above and you are interested in participating, please call 303.370.6371.
