DENVER – Mayor Michael B. Hancock announced another expansion to the MY Denver Card program today. Beginning today (June 2) and extending through Aug. 23, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science will provide free admission to all MY Denver Card holders.

“I am thrilled that the Denver Museum of Nature & Science will welcome our MY Denver Card holders for free throughout the summer,” Mayor Hancock said. “By providing safe environments for students to learn and express themselves during the summer break, this program is helping prepare our kids to compete and succeed in school and beyond.”

“You never know what will spark imagination, curiosity and creativity, and we’re excited to have the potential to be a catalyst for so many students,” said George Sparks, President and CEO of the Museum. “We hope to see every MY Denver Card student take advantage of this benefit during the summer.”

Launched in 2013, MY Denver Card offers free, year-round access to Denver’s 25 recreation centers and 29 pools, multiple arts, science and cultural venues, and serves as a library card for more than 100,000 Denver children ages 5 to 18.

MY Denver Card has become a national model for keeping children engaged in positive activities when school is not in session. The program was made possible by Denver voters’ overwhelming support in 2012 of Measure 2A to restore funding to a number of city programs.
