DENVER – July 28, 2014 – The Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the region’s leading resource for informal science education, announces the addition of John Levisay to its Board of Trustees.
“John’s energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and his innovative spirit complements our board,” said George Sparks, President and CEO of the Museum. “I look forward to working with him and the rest of the trustees as we launch into the next exciting phase for the Museum in renewing our strategic plan.”
Levisay is the co-founder and CEO Craftsy, the world’s leading online education destination for passionate hobbyists. In 2014, Craftsy will have more than 4 million course enrollments by students from 180 different countries. Levisay led the company through multiple funding rounds, and in just four years, he helped grow Craftsy from four employees to more than 200. This year, Forbes listed Craftsy at number 19 on their list of America’s Most Promising Companies.
Prior to co-founding Craftsy in 2010, Levisay held executive roles at eBay and ServiceMagic.com. He joined eBay in 1999 as head of strategy and business development for eBay Motors, helping grow it into a $14 billion a year global business. Levisay also spent six years at General Electric, graduating with distinction from GE’s Financial Management Program. Levisay graduated with honors in history from Colgate University, and received his MBA from the University of Michigan.
