DENVER ― March 22 ― The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is partnering with the Mexican Cultural Center and Telemundo Denver to host the fourth annual “Dia del Nino: celebrating all children” for SCFD Community Free Day on April 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Dia del nino: celebrating all children is an event for the whole family and it is considered a manifestation from several cultures at the same time honoring children and childhood. Promotes the importance of family and family participation through languages, arts and science” said Marcela de la Mar, Executive Director of the Mexican Cultural Center.
New this year, the Museum is excited to host the Denver Public Schools showcase stage with special performances by students. The day will also include music and dance performances, face painting, crafts, Colorado sports mascots, Mr. Bones the Paleo Puppeteer, the Denver Public Library’s bookmobile, and a Museum-wide scavenger hunt.
Dia del Nino guests will also enjoy discounts on admission to the temporary exhibition “Vikings: Beyond the Legend” and the Museum’s IMAX and Planetarium theaters. Special tickets are required for the temporary exhibition and the theater shows.
Transportation and Parking
Limited free parking is available at the Museum, so alternative transportation is highly encouraged. Additional free parking will be available at East High School, 1600 City Park Esplanade. Free shuttle buses will run throughout the day between the Museum and the high school.
