Tiny shell close up

Manzonia crassa is a species of mollusk found from Norway to the Mediterranean Sea. This species grows only up to 3.5 mm in length. It lives in weeds and under stones, grazing on detritus down to 50 meters depth. We used a benchtop scanning electron microscope to take these fabulous images of this tiny shell.
