Virtual Science Academy

ONE MONTH AHEAD  

Check your email: upon booking your program, you will receive an automated confirmation email from [email protected]. Review this email to ensure all details (including program date, time and number of sessions) are accurate. If you do not receive this email, please check your junk or spam folders. If you have questions about your reservation, please contact us  at [email protected]. 

Process payment: payment is due in full 30 days before your y program. The Museum accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa, payable by calling 303.370.8346, or checks payable to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Mail checks to:

AT LEAST THREE WEEKS AHEAD  

Gather your equipment. Please choose one option:      

  • Software (Recommended): Any computer or smart device connected to the internet with a webcam, external speakers, and projector. The Museum's default platform is Zoom, though we can currently support other platforms (Google Meet, Teams, etc.) upon request. If your group will be connecting via Zoom, you will receive a connection link from us approximately two weeks before your program. If your group will be using a different platform, please create a meeting on this platform and invite us at [email protected] no later than one week before your program.  
     
  • Hardware: H.323 video conference codec equipment. Please notify [email protected] for IP connection information.  

A connection test is not required. If you would like to schedule a test connection, please email  us at [email protected] with three dates and times when you would be available for a test.  member of the Virtual Experiences team will respond to you to confirm a date and time for a  test connection. You may also test your Zoom connection independently at www.zoom.us/test. 

Gather your supplies: make sure you can supply all the necessary program materials. Materials by program can be found here.

ONE TO TWO WEEKS AHEAD  

Review final details: fourteen days before your program, you will receive an automated email from our Guest Services team at [email protected] containing a unique Zoom link to connect with us. If your group will be using Zoom, simply click to connect. If your group will be using a different platform, please create a meeting on this platform and invite us at [email protected] no later than one week before your program.  If you do not receive this email, please check your spam or junk folders. Still no luck? Contact us at [email protected]. 

If you have booked Art Station: Titan, expect to receive materials for the program via mail one to two weeks before your program.  

If you have immediate questions, please send an email to [email protected]. 

 

ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT  

Distribute materials: Have your printed materials and/or art materials ready for each student. You can download these materials and see what you need here.  

Connect early: Please plan to connect 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of your first program for audio and video checks with your educator.  

Classes are 45 minutes long. Please alert us at [email protected] about any time limitations (Will your students need to arrive late and/or depart early? If so, when?) and plan to review your schedule with your educator before your program begins. 

Please have a classroom teacher in the room at all times to call on raised hands and moderate student interactions with the educator.  

 

AFTER YOUR PROGRAM  

Share your feedback: for your convenience, you will receive an email with an electronic evaluation following the program. We encourage you to share any feedback you have for us!

UPON REGISTRATION 

Check your email: immediately after registration, you will receive an automated confirmation email from Zoom, with the sender name ‘DMNS Virtual Experiences’. This email contains a unique Zoom link to connect to the event webinar. Please review the information in this email and contact us at [email protected] with any questions.

If you requested an on-camera panelist spot during registration, a team member will confirm if you have been granted a panelist place in this email. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam or junk folders. Review web etiquette: other groups will join you in the webinar for this program. Plan to review appropriate use of the Zoom chat and on-camera behavior.
