In September we reached another milestone in our efforts to make our collections globally accessible through the SCAN portal: Our wonderful team of citizen scientist volunteers topped the mark of 80,000 databased specimens from the entomology collection.
Supported by two NSF grants (CSBR and SCAN) and guided by our diligent and determined David Bettman, our databasing volunteers have been working relentlessly (and cheerfully) on the task and keep doing so. Today we databased the 82,199th specimen. Thank you very much to everybody involved in this effort, including our Teen Science Scholars. Great work!
