Come out and connect with a key Colorado resource through the immersive visualizations in the planetarium dome as we explore our Digital Earth!

Colorado boasts abundant renewable surface water in its rivers and snowpack, but beneath the surface lies a lesser-known treasure: groundwater. This invaluable resource serves both domestic needs and irrigated agriculture, yet its significance often goes unnoticed.

Dr. Ka Chun Yu (DMNS Curator of Space Science) and Bob Raynolds (DMNS Earth Sciences Research Associate) will shed light on two key aquifers here in Colorado that are heavily relied upon for domestic water by the rapidly growing communities south of Denver. Gain insight through digital imagery into our water usage patterns and explore potential solutions for ensuring the sustainable management of these finite resources. Join us as we imagine a future where Colorado's groundwater remains a lasting legacy for generations to come.
