Rocky Mountain Mind, Brain & Education Conference

 

Join us for the 4th Annual Rocky Mountain Mind, Brain & Education Conference hosted by Denver Museum of Nature & Science in partnership with researchED. This conference brings together K–12 educators and university researchers, all with a common interest in applying research-based methods from psychology and neuroscience to their practice.

Featured Keynote Speaker: Dr. Jim Heal

Dr. Heal is a leading advocate for bridging the worlds of research and practice in education.  His work seeks to develop expertise in evidence-informed instruction and leadership in K-12 schools, school districts, and higher education in the United States and Europe.  Dr. Heal was a high school English teacher and principal for ten years in the UK before moving to the US, where he became Director of Practice at Harvard’s Research Schools International initiative. In his work at Deans for Impact, a US-based non-profit, he strives to increase teacher effectiveness by infusing the science of learning into educator preparation. He currently serves as Professor of Evidence-Informed Education Leadership at Academica University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam, teaches at the Harvard Graduate School of Education where he earned his doctorate in educational leadership, and is author of How Teaching Happens: Seminal Works in Teaching and Teacher Effectiveness and What They Mean in Practice.

Continuing Education Credit Options: 

Option A: Certificate of Completion for 7.5 clock hours: FREE

Option B: University re-licensure credit for 0.5 credit hours for attending all sessions and completing a one-page written reflection about a brain-based strategy suggested by a conference presenter that you implement and evaluate after implementation. Additional $45
