PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

How did we get here? Charles Musiba, PhD, of the University of Colorado Denver, combines fossil evidence from both humans and mammals to explore the human evolutionary journey. He reconstructs the environments in which our ancestors lived in order to answer when and why humans began to walk upright millions of years ago.

    What to do the day of your program?

  • A

    Please be connected 15 minutes prior to start time for audio-video check. Please begin the broadcast with your equipment muted. Classroom teacher MUST be present in the room at ALL times during the broadcast.

    • Dim the room in order for the students to see details on the projected screen.
    • Position the camera so it can see as many kids as possible. Ideally, do not have the students backlit by windows.
    • Have all students facing the screen, which ideally should sit above the camera feed.
    • Locate the microphone centrally so all students can be heard, or have the teacher repeat questions.
    • A wired Internet connection is much more reliable for good audio and video than wireless.
    • Classroom teacher should call on the students when the Museum educator asks for questions.
    • Plug in external speakers and move it away from the microphone for optimal audio.
