The weather observing station located on the City Park Golf Course and operated by the Denver Museum of Nature & Science will be taken out of service at the end of November when construction begins on the golf course. This station is operated by the Museum in collaboration with Vaisala, a global leader in the manufacture of extremely accurate weather instruments; the City of Denver’s Parks & Recreation Department; 7News Chief Meteorologist Mike Nelson; and the Colorado State Climatologist.

Recognizing that the weather station is a community resource and provides valuable information to news outlets, weather enthusiasts and others, the Museum is working with Denver Parks and Recreation, Denver Water, the National Weather Service and Denver Botanic Gardens to identify a new, permanent location for the observation station. In the interim, the Denver International Airport Automated Weather Observing Station is another resource for local weather data.
