Meet Mormoops megalophylla, the Ghost-Faced Bat; the newest species of bat to join our collections. This nocturnal insectivore, like too many of the animals that come into the mammal collection, was the unfortunate victim of a fast-moving vehicle; amazingly the skull remained intact. Salvaged near the Amistad Reservoir in southern Texas, this individual occurred in the northern-most reaches of its range.
