Our Colorado program is designed for third graders in Denver Public Schools and is led by Balarat Outdoor Education. On Mondays during the school year, students participate in a full-day excursion, spending half the day at Genesee Mountain Park and the other half at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
We are seeking volunteers to support this incredible experience by leading hikes and engaging students in the wonders around them at Genesse Mountain Park. They will also learn about the park’s protected bison herd—and may even get a chance to observe them from a safe distance! Work as a part of a team with Balarat Outdoor Education teachers, Museum Staff and Volunteers to ignite students' curiosity and passion about the natural world in nature. Volunteers will meet the students in Genesee on Mondays. Full-day and half-day shifts are available, both morning and afternoon shifts. Available to applicants 18 and older.
