For practicing PreK–1st grade teachers

8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.



  • If you choose to take this course for noncredit, you will receive a certificate of hours completed.
  • If you choose to take this course for credit, 1 continuing education credit is available for an additional $50 through the Colorado School of Mines. 

Children cannot be accommodated in Teachers Professional Development Programs; no exceptions. Participants who arrive with children will not be admitted to the program. Previous Mission Cognition participants are not allowed to take the course again.


What young child doesn’t enjoy collecting sticks and rocks while they are out for a walk? Learn how to put that natural curiosity to work using engaging opportunities for science inquiry. Join us to explore City Park and experience nature firsthand with hands-on investigations and ways to create authentic connections between home and school.
