The Connected Brain: How Relationships Shape Student Learning and Behavior

Students learn best when they feel connected, valued, and supported; yet growing rates of student loneliness and social isolation present steep challenges in today's classrooms. Drawing on insights from neuroscience, psychology, and education, this workshop will explore how strong teacher-student relationships, meaningful peer connections, and a sense of belonging directly drive cognitive development, academic engagement, and emotional well-being. Join us for this interactive one-day workshop to gain evidence-based strategies for building inclusive classrooms, strengthening students' social skills, and turning relational science into practical daily interventions where every learner can thrive.

Teachers will have the option to earn one graduate credit from Adams State University toward relicensure.
